EPISODE SUMMARY:
The "riot grrrl" era may only register to some as a minor blip in the vast cascade of indie rock subgenres that came out of the late 90s and early 2000s. But the women who championed is unique and fearless aesthetic burned bright for that brief period, not the least of which were the members of Sleater-Kinney. Their 1997 album Dig Me Out still reverberates with anyone who appreciates subversive counterculture, including comedians Randy and Jason Sklar.
