EPISODE SUMMARY:
With ubiquitous access to an infinite amount of information and content, people today tend to forget a time when your interests were, in large part, determined almost entirely by your immediate environment. Large cities and entire regions acted as hubs for various artists and scenes which might never have had a broader appeal. But still, those in the know absolutely knew that a group of punk rock pioneers like X were destined to become something greater than just the vanguard of the LA milieu. Their albums, including 1981's Wild Gift, both transcended their locality and heightened the cultural awareness of their closest admirers, including author and music publisher Tom DeSavia.
