EPISODE SUMMARY:

True artistic geniuses value their craft over everything else. Take Neil Young, for example. He has never clung too rigidly to his ego or the ego of others, or the musical expectations of his contemporaries, to try new things and push boundaries. That is how, in the pursuit of becoming an ever improving songwriter, Young joined with Crazy Horse to release their 1979 folk rock album Rust Never Sleeps. The album was inspired by the rise of punk, and would later influence the creation of grunge. It also had a huge impact on comedian Tom Papa, co-host of SiriusXM’s “What A Joke” and author of You’re Doing Great, who had never heard anything like it before.
