EPISODE SUMMARY:

Jazz is an artform unlike any other. As evident in the work of genius trumpet player Miles Davis, it is more than just a cliche to say that the genre isas much about what isn't being played as what is. Never one to shy away from experimentation, Davis launched into the world of flamenco with his 1960 album Sketches of Spain, yet another example of how pioneering he really could be. More than any other, comedy is the artform most similar to jazz. So it makes complete sense that comedian and actor Alonzo Bodden would be a huge fan of Miles. His carefully structured rhythm and timing in joke delivery, as well as his perfect deadpan have taken Alonzo in so many interesting directions in his career, including NBC's Last Comic Standing and NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.
