EPISODE SUMMARY:
Rock and roll is a cruel mistress, and only a few rare bands reach the heights of real stardom. Some bands spend years in others' shadows without being fully appreciated in their time. But British glam band Mott the Hoople proved they were more than just disciples of David Bowie with their semi-autobiographical 1973 album Mott. To this day it still commands the respect of such rock icons as Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott, who views it as a seminal piece of music for its era.
