EPISODE SUMMARY:

For some people, music is at its best when it crafts a heady interpretation of complex thoughts and emotions in a manner so esoteric that it elevates the artist far above the listener. But sometimes the world needs a band that can cut right to the heart of our humanity and maybe make us groove a little at the same time. For comedian Josh Wolf, no band accomplishes this better than blues rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Josh’s humor tends a bit towards an embrace of the absurd, as evident in his work on Chelsea Lately as well his book  “It Takes Balls: Dating Single Moms and Other Confessions from an Underprepared Single Dad.” But few things keep him as in touch with the raw emotional reality of what it means to be a man than the simple lyrics and soaring guitars riffs of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 1973 debut album (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd).
