It's an artist's job to stand out, be bold, hold a microscope to the world around us, and elevate unique perspectives to the forefront of their audience's minds. Brian Eno was able to do all of these things, as well craft some of the most innovative glam rock and avant-pop in history, all without having any formal musical training to speak of. His influence can be felt in the many records he produced for other artists, as well as the genre-bending work that started in 1974 with the release of his own debut album Here Come The Warm Jets. At that time creatively blossoming talents like American singer-songwriter Perry Farrell were able to absorb Eno's eccentricity and willingness to experiment and use that energy to launch into their own exploration of art, music and social justice. In the case of Perry, that meant founding such seminal bands as Jane's Addiction and Porno For Pyros, as well as the Lollapalooza music festival.
