EPISODE SUMMARY:
We all have our heroes. But even those writers, artists and thinkers we idolize have people they look up to. At one point, Duran Duran may have been one of the biggest bands in the world. But bassist and founding member John Taylor still harkens back to seeing Roxy Music as a teenager in England the 1970s and it being one of the most transformative experiences of his life. Roxy Music’s brand of glam rock was unlike any other. And their wildly inventive albums, like 1973’s For Your Pleasure, became a massive inspiration for a whole host of other musicians, including John and his band mates.
