EPISODE SUMMARY:
The beauty of art that carries the most emotional resonance is that it can adapt to whatever the audience might need. The common understanding is that American singer-songwriter Beck wrote his eighth studio album, 2002's Sea Change, as a means of processing the discovery of his then-fiance's affair and the subsequent unraveling of their relationship, ultimately crafting one of the most cathartic expressions of the extreme sadness from love gone bad. Sonically, the album is also seen by critics as an artist proving themselves as truly limitless talent. But to actor, comedian and musician Nick Thune this heartbreaking masterpiece was a way of navigating the substance abuse and depression of his own internal darkness. And though the way through may have been harrowing, it has led Nick to perform multiple times on NBC's The Tonight Show, release two hour long comedy specials and appear regularly in TV series like ABC's Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23.
