That was the kind of feeling comedian and writer Karen Kilgariff felt when she first heard the pop rockers The Go-Go's 1981 debut album Beauty and the Beat in the fourth grade. Karen was so amazed by this first group of women to ever have an album they had written and performed entirely themselves go to top of the charts, that she was forever inspired to live her truth and create the art she wanted to see in the world, including HBO's Mr. Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the wildly popular My Favorite Murder podcast.
